The Frostgrave formula reimagined in space - a captain and crew salvaging derelict ships and stations.

Stargrave carries the warband-and-campaign structure of Frostgrave into a science-fiction setting: a captain and crew of a dozen or so hired hands boarding derelict ships and abandoned stations for salvage, with the same persistent campaign carrying scars and loot from one game to the next. It's from the same designer and plays to the same rhythm, just with ranged sci-fi weapons in place of spellbooks. The setting opens up a very different look for a painter used to Frostgrave's medieval-fantasy warbands - armoured spacesuits, robots and alien mercenaries alongside human crew, so a Stargrave warband can go anywhere from gritty military sci-fi to pulpy space opera depending on how you paint it.

On the table: Small-warband, persistent-campaign skirmish again, this time with ranged sci-fi weapons and boarding-action objectives rather than treasure-hunting on foot.
