Who are Perry Miniatures?

Perry Miniatures is the Nottingham firm of the twin brothers Alan and Michael Perry, who sculpted for Games Workshop for decades before making historicals of their own. Their plastic 28mm boxes are the backbone of a great many Napoleonic, American Civil War and medieval armies — a box is usually a full unit, with the command and options a real regiment needs.

The kits are not tied to one rulebook. Most are played with Warlord Games' Black Powder (the musket era) or Hail Caesar (the medieval ranges), and the Second World War kits with Bolt Action — which is how our catalogue files them, and why each period above links into that ruleset's page too.

What is and isn't here

Every kit on this page is one a shop we compare actually sells, at the price that shop was charging when we last checked it. We don't show a manufacturer's list price as if you could pay it, and a kit no shop we track has in stock says so on its card.

Perry Miniatures questions

What scale are Perry Miniatures?

28mm. Alan and Michael Perry sculpt at 28mm, and the shops we compare sell their plastic boxes as 28mm figures (Perry's buildings are sold as 1/56, the same size). That is the scale Black Powder and Hail Caesar are written for, which is why a Napoleonic army so often mixes Perry kits with Victrix and Warlord ones.

Where can I buy Perry Miniatures?

In the US, Noble Knight Games prices 9 of the 55 Perry products on this page, and each card above shows which is cheapest today. Perry also sell direct from their own website, perry-miniatures.com.

Do Perry Miniatures sell direct?

Yes. perry-miniatures.com sells the whole range: the plastic boxed sets on this page, a much longer list of metal figures, and Travel Battle, their boxed two-player game. No shop we compare lists Travel Battle yet, which is why it has no card here.

Are Perry Miniatures made by Warlord Games?

No. Perry Miniatures is run by the twin brothers Alan and Michael Perry. Warlord Games sells Perry's plastic boxes in its own shop and publishes Black Powder and Hail Caesar, the rules most Perry armies are played with, which is why the two names turn up together so often.

Which rules are Perry Miniatures used for?

They aren't tied to one rulebook. We file the Perry products on this page under Black Powder (43 products), Hail Caesar (9 products) and Bolt Action (3 products), the rules that cover their periods; each of those pages shows every maker's kits for the same wars.

Are Perry Miniatures plastic or metal?

Both. Perry make multi-part plastic boxed sets and a larger metal range that covers more periods. The shops we compare stock the plastic boxes, so those are what this page prices; the metal figures are on Perry's own site.
