Black Powder Colonial Wars

0 box sets · 32 kits we track

Britain's nineteenth-century colonial campaigns, fought across Africa, Asia and the Middle East against dozens of different opponents.

Colonial Wars is the broadest period Black Powder covers, because it isn't one war but the whole span of nineteenth-century imperial campaigning: the Sudan, Egypt, Afghanistan, West Africa and more, wherever British and other colonial forces fought local armies far from home. That breadth is why the range on this page is the largest of any Black Powder period. It also gives a painter the widest choice of any period in the game. The imperial side is familiar red-coated infantry, cavalry and artillery; the opposing forces vary hugely from campaign to campaign, so you can pick a single small conflict and paint a compact, distinctive force rather than a whole war's worth of regiments.

On the table: Disciplined firepower and squares against fast, determined melee attacks - the classic 'thin red line' fight, though the details change from campaign to campaign.
