The three things worth owning first

A cleaning pot. It catches the mist and the solvent smell that otherwise hang in the room, and gives the brush somewhere to rest between colours. It matters more than it looks like it should - see how to clean an airbrush for the routine it belongs to.

A moisture trap. Compressed air condenses water, and water reaching the nozzle spits on the model - the fault most often blamed on paint. An in-line trap between compressor and hose is the cheapest fix in airbrushing, and some compressors ship with one already.

Somewhere to put the brush down. A loaded airbrush laid on the desk leaks into the cup seal and rolls into things. A holder or a clamp costs less than one replacement nozzle.

Extraction is still worth having: a booth pulls the overspray away from your face and out of the room, and it is the honest answer to whether airbrushing indoors is safe. A proper respirator matters more than a booth does, and neither is something we can compare on one listing.
