Groundwork. Earth basecoat, drybrushed bone, finished with your choice of grass, sand or snow.

Shoulder pads and squad plates in dull olive green - basecoat dark, blend up, edge in pale camo green.

The XIV Legion is never clean. Sponge grey chips, streak earth down the legs, dust the boots.

Tarnished bronze rather than bright gold on trim and rivets - shade it heavily.
