Space Wolves

Space Marines with a Norse warrior culture - long hair, wolf pelts, thunder-hammers and a chapter structure nobody else recognises.

The Wolves are the least Imperial of the loyalist chapters. They keep their own ranks and titles, they drink and boast, and their veterans ride in Thunderwolf cavalry or fight alongside enormous Fenrisian wolves. There is nothing else quite like them in the range. For painters they are an excellent change from standard marines: fur, leather, braided hair, runes, and grey armour that suits weathering and battle damage far better than a parade finish. The models carry a lot of accessory detail, so they take longer per figure than a Primaris squad but never get boring. Wolf grey is also one of the easier chapter colours to mix and match.

On the table: An assault-leaning marine force with strong close combat units and genuinely fast cavalry.
