The unquiet dead of the Mortal Realms - screaming spirits who drift through walls and cannot be reasoned with.
Nighthaunt are ghosts with a grudge, bound into service and thoroughly resentful about it. The models float on clear stems, trailing shrouds, chains and torn cloth, with skeletal wardens and enormous spectral dragons among them. They are the classic recommendation for a fast, spectacular first army, and it is deserved. A wash-and-drybrush approach over a pale base gives an ethereal look in minutes, and Contrast-style paints were practically designed for the tapering, translucent fade from cloth to nothing. The floating bases also make the army read as one coherent effect on the table. Model count is high but each one is quick.
On the table: A numerous, fast melee army of fragile bodies that ignores terrain and keeps returning.
