The Heresy-era Custodians are a different proposition to their 41st millennium descendants. There are more of them, they field their own grav-tanks and aircraft, and the Sisters of Silence fight beside them as a full contingent rather than an oddity. Collecting them means an army you can carry in one case and paint one model at a time. The gold is the entire scheme, so the decision that matters is which gold - a warm, bright parade finish or a darker, more antique one - and it is worth testing on a single figure. Sisters of Silence give you black armour and pale skin as a contrast when the gold gets wearing.
