Black Templars

1 box · 9 kits we track · also fields Space Marines kits

A crusading Space Marine chapter that has never stopped campaigning - black armour, white crosses and an outright preference for the sword.

The Templars are the most single-minded of the Space Marine chapters. They abandoned the standard chapter structure centuries ago in favour of permanent crusades, and they carry the fanaticism of a religious order into a fight most other Marines would shoot their way out of. Sword Brethren, Crusader squads and chained-on purity seals define the look. For a painter, black armour with white and red heraldry is fast to get to a good standard and very hard to get to a great one - your highlight colour on black is the whole decision. The upside is that the tabards, parchment and hand-painted crosses give you somewhere to put detail work, so squads never look flat.

On the table: An aggressive melee-first take on Space Marines: close the distance, then win the fight in contact.
